When sea level rose, all houses were flooded underwater. People had to build upon their houses so that the top level always had access to the air and sun. Living upon the history of houses was not a bad choice for the people, for that they could come down to where they had lived and spent good time in the past from time to time.
The story started from the marriage of a young couple who lived in the traditional Jiangnan dwelling.
They moved out in a new apartment. One year later, a child was born.
The boy grew so fast and the tower of house kept rising.
He learnt to crawl, walk and run with other kids.
He learnt to draw, play sports and read.
He met his beloved girl, went through adventures and got married.
The house evolved from traditional to modern, to post-modern, to tailored and 3D-printed, to adaptive membrane, to mobile plugin craft and to some light bubble in the far future…
